Our studio
Somewhere in South Bend, Indiana in an old dry-cleaning factory turned artist’s studios, you’ll find our presses turning and our brains storming.
Behind the press
Meet Sarah, owner and lead presswoman of Bloom Press.
Sarah started printmaking in high school, later incorporating various reduction printmaking methods as a focus while earning her BFA in illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design. After graduating and moving to Chicago in 2016, she attended a letterpress workshop and fell in love.
Sarah acquired her first press, Kiki, our tabletop platen press, in 2017, and after disassembling, cleaning, and restoring it, began offering small letterpress printed products the following year.
In 2021, after acquiring our floor model press, Betty, she officially established Bloom Press (under our original name, Sarah Bloom Studio). Since then, she’s relocated her studio to South Bend, Indiana, where she is living with her husband and their dog, Leopold.
When she’s not in the studio, Sarah loves chit-chatting with friends at her neighborhood coffee shop, hosting elaborately themed dinner parties, and finding little moments of everyday life to celebrate.
